SALVI is very excited to announce, in partnership with the Getty Villa, the Biduum Latinum Angelopolitanum 2012.
The weekend event will take place March 10–11 at the Getty Villa in Malibu, CA.
Biduum Latinum Angelopolitanum seeks to target two distinct groups of people. For alumni of Rusticatio or other spoken
Latin programs, Biduum Latinum will offer a mid-year “fix” of immersion Latin. For those new to spoken Latin, the weekend will give
a taste of Latin immersion, and provide the confidence needed for those planning to attend a week-long workshop in the summer.
Regardless of your level of experience with spoken Latin, plan to come away from Biduum Latinum Angelopolitanum with living
Latin activities you can use in your classroom Monday morning!
Program Dates: Saturday, March 10, 2012, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
Sunday, March 11, 2012, 9:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.
Location: Class sessions will be held at the Getty Villa, 17985 Pacific Coast Highway, Pacific Palisades, CA. Directions and parking passes will be sent to participants in early March.
Eligibility: You are eligible to attend this workshop if you have already learned Latin on paper and are interested in developing active command of the spoken language. Please note that Biduum is not an introductory Latin course and thus it is not for people who have no knowledge of the language. Typically, participants have completed, at a minimum, the equivalent of two years of traditional college Latin or four years of a high school Latin program. It is not necessary to have previous experience speaking Latin.
Cost: The $35 registration fee covers instructional expenses only. Snacks and lunch may be purchased on the Getty Villa
campus. Once admitted as a participant, you may pay for Biduum Latinum Angelopolitanum through PayPal (below), or by
sending a check payable to SALVI to:
